Reflect…Reset…and Go

Hello-Friends-logo-300x209
I’m back and I’ve missed you!! I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get back to doing what I love. To be completely transparent I needed a break because I was beginning to feel overwhelmed. Yes, this is a normal part of life, but I admit that I didn’t exercise healthy ways of dealing with stress. My initial response has been to shut down or say “I’m fine”! I wanted more for myself, for my family and I needed to see immediate results. :-/

I’ve spent a ton of time focusing on nurturing my faith in Jesus Christ. Something that I’ve always ranked last in my life, but now that has shifted. I’ve also prayed about seeking peace, health and direction for my future.

Basically, I’ve lost sight on what I wanted. One thing I knew for sure was that I wanted to write because I enjoy it. I’m also passionate about encouraging others and healing relationships, so writing is one way I can do that.

It’s been forever since I’ve written a post and so much has changed. Fast forward a few years: I’m married to an incredibly amazing man, we relocated to a bigger home from an apartment, and our lives changed for the better after we had our son. So, life came at me fast, but that’s ok. 🙂

I’m here to say hello and that I’ll be getting back to sharing stories, resources and encouragement with my online family!

I’m hoping this may reach someone who may have been struggling to get back into a routine that they’ve lost sight of or something that brings them joy. You’re probably never going to find the most “perfect” circumstances to begin again and another day will be lost if you don’t start today. It’s also perfectly reasonable to give yourself time to regroup and refresh when you feel the need to do so.

To be encouraged in faith, love & happiness, be sure to follow my blog!

Cheers to new beginnings!

Making Life Happen

Hey everyone!

If you had the opportunity to do anything that you wanted, something that made you absolutely happy…what would that be?

While speaking with Nosyjosie at Mind Jo Business, she helped inspire this topic by letting me know how she had to change her thinking. Please check out her blog if you haven’t already done so. Her ideas and amazing, and her posts are encouraging and funny.

It’s no secret that we all want to be happy. So, wouldn’t you think that there were more people making this happen on their own? Let me ask you this…What honestly motivates you? Is this an internal pull, or an external pull, both? Are you calling the shots, or is a family member, a boss, a significant other, or social media reminding you what you should be doing…right down to the very second you should be doing so?

For some people, you most likely won’t have to rack your brain when coming up with your answer. You’ve already made it your business to do exactly what your heart desires. I commend ya! You have the means and the dedication to follow through with these desires.

For a very long time I was undecided and without definite direction. I was down on myself big time! I would remind myself of my age and link that up to where I was “supposed” to be. I would remind myself what I “needed” to be doing, because I’ve been hearing this for all of my life. How I should look, how I should be communicating with others, which careers to pursue based on the highest amount of income.  I had to really sift through these messages to find what I was looking for (I share the details in a previous post here).  It is not the best feeling to go against the grain, but often times this is necessary.

I also understand that your current life situation may not always allow you to live how you’d like to.  Even if you are unable to fullfill your life-long dream this very second, how about planning for the future? How will you get there? What do you need to do? Who do you need to speak with? How much money will you realistically need to save? These are questions that will hopefully encourage you to begin living your best, because YOU have made this decision.

Get it DONE! It’s never too late.

XOXO

Make Time For Happiness

“The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.” ~Michelangelo

What do you think it will take for you to make those long-term changes that will immediately benefit your happiness?

I know each of us all want different things.  Many of us spend a lifetime just dreaming about how life could be different. How your job could be better. How you wish that your significant relationships would improve.  But, time continues to go by without us making any changes whatsoever.  Or maybe we don’t take a big enough risk, and we aim too low when attempting to satisfy our own happiness?

I don’t want to spend my life preparing to be genuinely happy, but never fully resting there comfortably.

The reality is that many of us do spend the majority of our lives planning and brainstorming how to make significant changes. But, we don’t always remain consistent with pursuing the steps to get there. Personally, I’m always thinking, reading, praying, and speaking with others, to help move me along in this area. I don’t like feeling stuck, and I definitely don’t want to feel like I’m not doing what’s necessary to live how I’d like to see myself within the next few years. I want to look back and feel confident in my efforts.

I’ve been hesitant about taking risks before. I will admit that I’ve let the fear of the unknown keep me wondering about the possibilities.

I’ve questioned myself plenty of times. I’ve realized that I can’t keep putting things off.  I have so many goals that I’d like to accomplish within the next few years.  So, I’m giving myself a timeline, with deadlines on when this will happen.  To start moving forward with my own plans, I am signing up for a local adult entrepreneur workshop. I’m exicted for this workshop for many reasons.  But, mainly because I am putting forth more effort to be genuinely happy, doing what I’d like to do.  Getting one step closer to my long-term plans!

What do you think it will take for you to make those long-term changes that will immediately benefit your happiness?
